Teen Mom: round 2

I missed last week’s episode recap, so I am combining the last 2 episodes as best as I can remember them. I accidentally deleted them off of the DVR! Oops!

First of all, Gary and Amber’s road trip to Florida could not have been worse to witness. Amber acts like the baby instead of taking care of Leah, Gary lets her act that way, and her dad keeps quiet. I know that he is very sick, but he could at LEAST talk to Amber about her mothering ways. Their entire situation is annoying to me, not to mention sad. And that proposal? What was that, the third one? How awkward! I will be shocked if these two make it down the altar.

Something else about Amber? There was an article in US Weekly about her 65 pound weight loss and how she is a size one. I am not buying it for a second. It says that she does 2 hours worth of cardio plus weights every day? HOW? WHEN? I mean, I guess she doesn’t work full time (as far as I can remember) but what does she do with Leah? I guess since their apartment is always a mess and she doesn’t spend her time cleaning, she would have that much time to work out. Hmmm.

Poor Farrah. Between the drama with her mom, living on her own, and then getting scammed while selling her car on Craigslist, the girl is having quite a time. I have to admit, I do feel for her. I mean, I think overall, she is genuinely trying to do that right things for her and Sophia- they just fall through in the end. But leaving Sophia unattended on the bed? Not a smart move. I don’t want to say she was forced into the real world too fast, because obviously having unprotected sex will do that to a person, but she just needs some more real life experience. I hope things start turning around for her, because this season has been sad on her end.

Catelynn and Tyler. Where to even start? Yes, she slept with her ex but I think (from what I remember) that it was before they even had Carly? Not sure about the timing. But Tyler asking for her phone records when she apologized 100 times? I think he blew it way out of proportion. Fast forward to this past week when he threw them in the river/lake/whatever that was…not necessary. I think these two have a LOT to work out before they can get married as well.

Maci. I felt bad for Maci when Ryan came to pick up Benttley and had his new girlfriend with him and didn’t introduce them. I mean, Maci doesn’t want to be with him so what is she going to do? I really respect the fact that she confronted Ryan about it and told him that she just wanted to know who was going to be around Benttley, and if that person cared for him and was good with him. That is smart on her part. Not smart? The sleepover at her friend’s dorm. I just don’t know how that is ever a good idea. I mean, I guess it worked out, but still- I could never do that. I’m not sold on the new boyfriend, but I guess we will see where that goes. Hopefully, it works out so that she can have some stability in her life.

What are your thoughts?

Teen Mom: One of my guilty pleasures

I have a confession to make: I am kind of, slightly, ok more like totally addicted to the show Teen Mom. The drama, the tears, the struggles- I just can’t imagine putting myself in the shoes of these young girls. I can’t imagine having to raise a baby on my own. With a crazy mom like Farrah’s. Or with a total loser of an (ex) boyfriend like Ryan. Or with the emotional swings that come with motherhood in general, let alone being at it young and alone.

Gary and Amber

Where do I even begin with these two? They have had a tumultuous, toxic relationship from the word go. All they ever do is bicker and fight, especially in front of their daughter, Leah. Amber has been struggling with what I believe is Post Partum Anxiety (feel free to correct me if I am wrong) and is having hard time finishing her GED. I don’t have a complete opinion on her, mostly because she changes so much during episodes. One minute she is fine, and is in love with Gary, and wants to make things work but then if you blink, she is yelling and her mascara is ALL over her face. And her pregnancy scare? Didn’t they learn their lesson the first time? It is hard for me to feel totally sorry for her because some things I feel like she brings on herself. In most episodes, she is just sitting on the couch watching Leah play. I know that anxiety can make you feel like doing nothing at all, so I try not to judge her too harshly.

Maci

Maci’s babydaddy Ryan is seriously such an immature jerk, and she is SO much better off without him. SO much better off. Benttley is the cutest little boy and does not deserve a dad who acts like that to his mom. I think Maci is probably my favorite out of all the girls on this show. She seems to have her head on straight, and she definitely won’t let anyone stand in her way. She is genuinely looking out for her son first, and she’s doing everything she can to get an education. She seems to have a lot of help from her parents, which is good, but she seems pretty insistent on doing most of the child rearing herself. This is what I love about her.

Catelynn and Tyler

Watching them give their baby girl, Carly, up for adoption had me in tears. They had no support from their families, which is an entirely other issue, but they knew that they couldn’t raise Carly in the situation they were in. Smart move on their part. Their adoptive family is such a sweet couple but even that didn’t completely make them OK with the adoption in the beginning. I’m really pulling for them to stay together, but in the latest episodes, Tyler is questioning whether or not they are ready to be engaged, even though he already proposed! Catelynn, is of course confused, so I am waiting for the next episodes to see how things turn out for them. I am really rooting for them. I think that they have a good foundation for a relationship (if they would move away from their parents, it would probably be better!) and they genuinely love each other.

Farrah

Oh, Farrah. Where to even begin. Back when she was 16 and pregnant, I thought she was the brattiest girl that almost deserved to be in that situation. She was terrible to her parents, wanted everything her way, and had her nose in the air. Fast forward to now and I see a completely different side to her. Her mom is totally nuts, sets absolutely no example for Farrah, and her dad? I don’t even get it. Farrah calls her parents by her first names-it baffles me. On top of it all? The father of her baby girl, Sophia, was killed in a car accident not too long after Sophia was born. And he didn’t know Farrah was pregnant. For all that she has been through, Farrah is doing a pretty good job. No, I don’t think she should leave Sophia unattended in the kitchen sink, but she also has no examples of good parenting in her life. I hope things turn around for her, and that she can continue to keep her mom at bay.

What are your thoughts on this show?

safety dance

You all know how much I love Glee, and this past week’s episode had me dancing along…even Brayden loves this song now! Everytime I listen to it, he starts bouncing up and down. It is super adorable.

don’t bring around a cloud to rain on my parade

Good news: Harvest is officially over! They finished around 6pm last night. What a huge sigh of relief.

So, now that I am in SUCH a great mood…I would like to share a video with you. It’s no secret that I am obsessed with Glee (seriously, fall finale and now nothing until April? ahh!) and this week, Rachel (Lea Michele) sang “Don’t Rain on my Parade” and I have ALWAYS loved this song. Her rendition is incredible, and leaves me feeling like a Broadway diva as I belt it out along with her. I found a video on YouTube of her singing it on Glee, with footage of Idina Menzel (love love love) singing it as well.

These two definitely share an uncanny resemblance, and it is said that Idina may guest star in Glee as Rachel’s mom. OOOOOHHHHHH I am so excited you have no idea!

more glee love

I seriously am so in love with Glee. Watching it is the highlight of my week!

Last week, Mr. Schuester did a mashup of Young Girl/Don’t Stand So Close To Me to get Rachel, a student, to realize that her little crush on him was inappropriate.

It totally made me laugh, because in high school, there was a male teacher that EVERY single girl had a crush on. Am I right? (Girls from my school, you know I am!)

It’s finally here!!

The Office wedding is finally here! Tonight! I can hardly wait. I heart Jim and Pam so much, and I can’t wait to see what happens. For a sneak peek, read this article.

Glee: Single Ladies

Check this out from Wednesday’s nights episode of Glee. In love with this show!

time filler? I think not!

Last night’s American Idol finale was amazing! There was not a bad performance all night. I especially loved Keith Urban and Kris, and Adam singing with KISS. Talk about incredible. Usually, I hate the 2 hour finales, because they are just filled with nothing! (Like Dancing with the Stars the other night…blah!) But last night was incredible. And then- the shocker of the season-Kris Allen beats out Adam Lambert!

I will admit, I was shocked, because the judges definitely favored Adam from the beginning. I think Adam will make it big time regardless of the fact that he was runner up last night.

So, what was your favorite moment from last night? And will you buy any of the finalist’s albums if they come out with one?

idol finale

I am so excited about the Idol finale tonight! This is the first season in awhile that I have actually watched every episode from the very beginning.

Who’s it going to be? Kris or Adam?

I’m voting for Kris!

recaps!

I haven’t had time to even blog about my favorite TV shows this week!

  • The CMA’s were amazing! Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley did an amazing job hosting, and all of the performances were great. I especially loved Carrie Underwood singing her song “Just A Dream”. AND can you believe Shania Twain was there? Good for her. She is one of my all time favorite country singers. I also loved The Eagles
  • The Office last night was HILARIOUS! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show! If you have never watched it but you work in an office setting, rent season 1 and 2. You will be hooked. I promise. The ending of this week’s episode was fabulous, and I am no longer worried about Jim and Pam. Just Michael.
  • I missed Top Chef- I know, my DVR was already set for too many things, the CMA’s and Jon and Kate Plus 8. Don’t worry, I will be tuning in next week!

TGIF everyone!
