I have a confession to make.
I have started my Christmas shopping.
*phew* I feel better getting that off of my chest. And yes, I realize it is the second week of October. Last year, with harvest running into the second week of December, I never really got into the Christmas/Holiday mood. Brandon was so occupied with getting the crops out in the frigid temperatures, and I did all of the Christmas shopping online. That’s NEVER happened to us.
Our tradition is to take one Saturday evening and go do it together, have a nice dinner, just like we did on our very first date. This year? We wanted to get started as soon as possible. I am hoping to use some of my nature photos to make some Christmas gifts this year, which makes me really excited! I am not a very creative person, but I have found some inspiration online so I hope I can make some really neat gifts!
When do you start your holiday shopping? Any fun shopping traditions? Do you try to hand make anything?

I started my Christmas shopping in June! That was WAY early for me, but my sister and me found a good sale at Bath and Body Works and got a bunch of our shopping out of the way there. But since then I haven't done anything! I need to get going, I think!
UMMM… I have been starting in August for the past few years. One year, about 4 years ago, we had to do Christmas with my husbands family several weeks early because they were going overseas for the holiday week before Christmas and we were going to be gone the week of Christmas. So I had to have it all done by Thanksgiving. It was a REVELATION. I HATE crowds and have very little patience for shopping anyway, so we start saving in the summer and I start in the summer! My goal is always to have it done in Nov. It doesn't always happen, but it is so nice to have the little shopping we have to do DONE and be able to enjoy the holidays!!!
All these confessions make me feel better as I too am an early Christmas shopper! There's always so much going on in the month of December, so I try to finish all of ours up by Thanksgiving. It's nice to actually enjoy wrapping them and doing other types of holiday decorating.
No, we haven't started yet. We should though, between the SIX birthdays in December and Christmas, it's a busy month!
I've started christmas shopping as well, I have to or I'd never make it-Christmas would be over before I was finished! So far I've got four of my siblings done, I've got three more siblings, two sibling-in laws, parents, grandparents, friends and husband to go….it's such a long list!
I am going to post more about this soon myself, but I have everyone but our 4 siblings done.
I guess I sorta start whenever I see the first item I think would make a good gift. This year that was sometime in the summer. But, I haven't made much progress since then, and I've been thinking I really need to get on the ball!
We draw names for stockings, so I have just one stocking to do. This year I have my MIL. I'm almost done!
Hope you're feeling better and outta your funk
